But then:
Why are you still searching for the right words that would motivate a colleague to improve without creating discomfort between you and them? You really don't want it to be interpreted as personal criticism; what to do?
Why can't you pinpoint the approach you'll use to express to your employee that their current performance level does not meet the team's expectations, while not discouraging them? You absolutely want to maintain your trust relationship; what to do?
Why can't you structure your message so that your work ally not only feels your appreciation but also the motivation to collaborate on future projects with the same energy and commitment? You don't want to settle for a simple "good job" because your relationship is too important; what to do?
It's true that giving feedback is a challenge. You might be tempted to simply not give any. But it's not that simple because not giving feedback or giving it in the wrong way carries risks:
Self-esteem drops by not contributing to others' development
Anxiety about not knowing how to approach it persists
Self-censorship (out of fear of not being liked) harms positive relationships
Self-reflection and personal development stagnate
Inauthentic communication surfaces
Development plateaus
Trust relationship disappears
Lack of guidance causes uncertainty and frustration
Conflicts escalate
Morale and commitment fade without recognition
Turnover and isolation rates increase
Performance decreases
Energy and creativity erode
Willingness to take on challenges and resilience in the face of failure decrease
The development culture gradually fades away
Most corporate training is a one-time event, using a “learn everything now at once” approach. We’re supposed to take a one-day course, learn everything on the spot, and return to our jobs as transformed people.
Impossible indeed!! The same goes for development at work. The ability to give feedback is the product of daily habits, not one-time transformations. Therefore, we invite you to come and practice this skill repeatedly; it is the best way to learn. Changes that seem small and inconsequential (even sometimes imperceptible) will eventually turn into a natural habit. Take the first step in this direction in our Feedback Training Center!
You practice for 2 to 5 minutes every day (according to your personalized schedule) to optimize your learning like an athlete in training
You choose the time, place, and training program that suits you best to better adapt to your reality
You explore feedback skills that have been scientifically demonstrated as the most effective in the world to boost well-being and performance, allowing you to fill your feedback toolbox (read more about one of our differentiators below ↓ )
You find yourself giving feedback in work scenarios to allow you to learn in a psychologically safe learning environment
You are assisted in developing the habit of practicing through our personalized features and reminders from our 🤖 nimble bot to continue your development and complete your program.
The Feedback Training Center benefits from a strong scientific foundation thanks to its internationally recognized advisory committee in the field of motivation science:

My dream of representing Canada in the Olympic Games has guided my journey. Armed with my graduate studies in sport leadership at the University of Montreal, I developed a particular interest in the optimal conditions of the coach-athlete relationship.
After the opportunity to support Canadian Olympic teams in optimizing their well-being and performance in high-competition contexts at two Olympic Games, I challenged myself to do the same in the workplace this time. My transition into this new reality as the Director of Human Resources made me realize that the mindset of continuous development and feedback to reach the highest peaks is entirely different in the world of sports than in the workplace. I couldn't find the same emphasis on feedback in the professional context, nor dedicated moments for development.
I decided to open a feedback training center because every step of my sports journey convinced me of the transformative impact of continuous training and feedback. I dream that one day, feedback will be as prevalent in the workplace as it is in sports. I make it my mission every day!

“Knowing how to give and receive feedback is at the heart of a healthy corporate culture. It's an essential tool for everyone, and I wanted to ensure that all team members would start with the same basics. I started with ten managers who completed the Introduction to Feedback training program for a month. I then prepared a parallel training for the rest of the team so that everyone could have a solid foundation.”
You will engage in various types of training, such as multiple-choice, true or false, memory aid, call to action, etc. For the multiple-choice example, you will need to make a decision from among three feedback choices to provide in a specific context similar to your real-life work situation. Once you make your decision, you will understand the consequences and the impact of your feedback choice on the person receiving it.
No worries: you may miss training with our busy schedule. You can complete it when it is possible for you. Your personalized scoreboard will help you track your completed vs. non-completed training.
If you train alone, you can choose when to start your training program. When you register, you can select the date of your choice, as long as it is a Monday.
If you train with several people in your team, the person in charge of your group or team will confirm the start date.
Yes. Once you have completed the first program (Feedback Introduction), you will be able to decide if you want to continue training with the second program (Feedback Mastery).
Yet, you can train in English or French.
